The room is beautiful and big. Lots of room. The ensuite bathroom is very clean and bright. It looks like the interior was recently done. I have stayed in 3 other hotels in Dundee and, except for one 4 star, I would choose to stay here. It is a great value for the price. I had a great experience.
The rooms are realy great and looks like they were remade not long ago. The cleanliness was OK but not perfect. Especially below the bed it was dirty and also the bathroom was Not perfect but OK. Realy quiet in the night. Wenn did not try the breakfast.

Lovely staff... Incredible hospitality! The pictures don't do it justice. Gordon was super sweet and helpful. Just sad we could only spend a night at the place. It's definitely a place worth spending a few nights at!
Went for lunch with the good lady and the bairn. Delicious food, staff efficient and helpful. I do love the location and feel of the place. Will go again and definitely recommend!

Stayed 2 days and loved it. Staff are excellent-very polite and friendly. Very clean place. Food is great.
The imposing nineteenth century main building overlooks the Tay, but we were in a modern extension to the rear. Room was not huge but tastefully furnished with a good sized bathroom boasting a shower tray of circa 1500 X 700 mm. Parking is currently ample, but a function restricted spaces when we arrived, and the new extension may add to the problem when it is completed. A route 5 bus runs to City Centre every eight minutes on weekdays peak times.Ask for Perth Rd at Glamis Rd on returning.

Nice coffee. Relaxed atmosphere. Cakes are well priced too.
Good prices, great food and atmosphere.

Always love it here. Great service with a romantic atmosphere and I enjoy the music and friendly feel. Fridays and Saturdays are very busy so we go through the week for their pre-theatre courses. The food is amazing!!! I usually get a stir-fry or steak - they are delicious and are extremely reasonable prices.
Lovely place to have a meal. Great menu and tasty food. Good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly

Without doubt the best meal I've ever had in Dundee! The starter was to die for and the home made bread was unreal, absolutely gorgeous. Main was amazing. No 'art on a plate' type of stuff, yet still beautifully presented with enough on the plate to satisfy large appetites (like mine). Staff were great and this is a place we'll be back to. Thank you to everyone concerned.
Nice place, food is a bit expensive for the portion size you receive. Staff are very friendly though and the venue is nice and well looked after

We (couple, Germany) stayed at Balmuirfield house early August 2017 together with our six months old baby and it was definitely the best Scotland experience we could imagine. Starting with the lovely venue, it's garden and the perfect rooms, the owner's family and their care was extraordinary. Great tips, great food and great stories. We really enjoyed the stay and can only recommend to stay here.
Beautiful, luxurious b&b near Dundee. Amazing breakfast and friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area.

Basic room, bed was uncomfortable but warm. Quite cheap accomodation. Basic breakfast. Not bad but not great either very average, as it didn't cost much I didn't mind.
Let me begin by saying that this is a budget hotel, so please bear this in mind when reading my comments. Having done extensive research, this place is a BARGAIN. Most of my colleagues who were here for the same conference were playing three times the rate for a regular hotel room. This place is by far the cheapest lodging in Dundee with an en suite bathroom. That said, the good: The location is ideal: Walkable to town centre and both universities, as well as many pubs and restaurants. In a very safe neighborhood (I never felt worried walking at night). The room was clean and well-cared for, and the staff is responsive and efficient. The bed was comfortable, the temperature was good (I was there in the summer). My room, which was in the back of the building, was extremely quiet. The Internet was decent. There's a tea kettle in the room (love that!) The not-so-good: The dressers were cheap IKEA furniture and the drawers kept falling out. The shower was small—fine for me (a fairly tall average build woman) but I would not recommend it for a tall, heavyweight man. The staff can be a bit surly at times, possibly because they are overwhelmed and underpaid? (...although I could not tell how many people were staying here since it was so quiet!) I do NOT recommend the free breakfast: Mine consisted of undercooked soft boiled eggs, soft bacon (in the UK style), and sauteed canned mushrooms.

Rooms are small, but charming and cozy. We got a room with a view of the Tay, so beautiful. The Scottish breakfast is amazing. A walk down Perth you have shops, cafés, pubs, and City Center is not too far. Clean, well kept, what more could you ask.
The lady who owns the guest house is very hospitable, the service was outstanding. The room we had was very comfortable, and we recieved a lovely breakfast. Dog was very friendly! :)
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Cheap and cheerful if you're on the road. Champions league on in bar with 2 meals for 8 quid if you want them. Also family orientated but can't comment. I had sizzling mex chicken skillet and a pint of Tenents for £6.99 so can't complain. No real ale though
The hotel is great, but the food at the restaurant next door is absolutly horrid. Worst steak i have had in my life
