Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Bicycle Shops or Bicycle Accessories Outlets or Cycle Repairers

Spokes Cycles

8 Annfield Rd, Dundee DD1 5JH, UK – 01382 666644

Always a pleasure; helpful staff, knowledgeable mechanics and even though you might pay a little more than you would online for parts you can be guaranteed that the guys will make sure you get the right bits. Have serviced (and sadly had to extensively repair) most of my bikes with timeliness and professionalism.

Reasonably new to the world of lycra and spandex but the guys here keep you right.

Second Cycles

Perfect and rapid service going above and beyond the call of duty. Excellent value for money. Had a bike sent up in a box, they build it with very fast turn around and was indexed perfectly. Better still, bike actually arrived without saddle and pedals (a fault of the sender) and these guys subbed be a spare to keep me on the road while we waited for the originals to be sent up at no extra cost. By far the best service in Dundee.

The guy is a solid mechanic and brings bike up to a good standard, and sells them for a reasonable price I bought and old road bike off him and the brakes were not as sharp as I like them. I was not within the 28 resale date/free check and he fixed the breaks for me. I would highly recommend this shop to students above other bike shops and the high scheme on campus!

EBS Cycle Centre

unit b, 75 Old Hawkhill, Dundee DD1 5EN, UK – 01382 884414

Jack did a great job in servicing my Marin - many thanks to him for replacing a worn cable and sourcing rare brake pads promptly, plus the bike is shifting through the gears like a champ. If you're like me and haul your bike out of storage after a long time, then definitely take it down to get serviced. Well recommended.

Everyone come here!! Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff and such good prices, can't recommend enough!!

I'll preface this by saying I only pop into this store for simple items. Haven't dealt with their bike department. That being said, the last time I was there was a good experience. I needed a rear wiper blade, but wasn't sure which to buy and how to fit it. The guy working at the time not only selected the right wiper blade for me, he fitted it for me too. On the merit of such good service, I'll definitely continue to use this store in the future.

Two batteries fitted in my Ford transit yesterday by Susan. Not an easy job but it was done in no time at all. First class and very pleasant person. She's a star 🌟 back on the road to Glasgow

University of Dundee

Nethergate, Dundee DD1 4HN, UK – 01382 383000

2nd Year student at this university. So far it's been a great adventure. Lovely people all around, definitely a unique experience.

Hoping to apply soon, and all I can say for now is the course I want to study there ticks most of the boxes in terms of quality and price 🤓. Only problem is Dundee is on the top left corner of the Britain, and I am from the bottom left corner of the island!! 😥 - distance learning should do it and problem solved 😎
